Rustic End Tables

Rustic end tables are one of the many types of rustic furniture available in the market today. Furniture with a natural look that is manufactured using logs, sticks or twigs is called rustic furniture. Rustic furniture, such as rustic end tables, is manufactured by several companies and craftspeople using various styles and techniques. There are primarily two basic types of rustic furniture construction - bentwood and stick. One of the factors that attract people to purchase rustic furniture is the fact that unlike certain other furniture in the market, rustic furniture is generally handcrafted.

Rustic end tables are manufactured using different types of wood such as cedar, pine, oak, cherry and walnut. However, while most rustic end tables are made solely of wood, there are some that may be a mix of wood and metal. For instance, the rustic end table may have a wooden top with legs that are bolted together using laser cut steel.

The finish on most indoor rustic end tables is done with a clear finishing varnish. Some rustic end tables are available unfinished, where the customer can do the finishing as required, but more often than not the finishing is done by the manufacturer. Rustic end tables can also be custom-built based on a design given by the customer. This gives the customer greater flexibility and artistic freedom to come up creative designs to suit the look and feel of the living room.

As with all wood furniture, proper care is important to make it last. Keeping it away from direct sunlight will avoid the fading out of the wood, even if the finish of the wood is resistant to sunlight. Keeping the wood furniture dry is also an essential aspect to avoid peeling, fading or even warping of the wood. Using a simple tablecloth or a coaster on your rustic end table is one way of avoiding scratches, if the table is used.

Wood is a material that adjusts at different times of the year to the varying moisture content in the environment. Therefore, if your rustic end table is kept in a place with too much or too little humidity, it may damage the wood. A dehumidifier would ensure that your home has proper humidity levels that do not harm the wood.

With proper care and a bit of common sense, your rustic end tables will continue to liven up your living rooms for years to come.
